Councilmen Rhodes and Upfield were absent.
Councilman Rhodes was ill, Councilman Upfield, out of town.
PUBLIC HEARING - CHANGE IN PERCENTAGE OF ASSESSMENT
The City Council held a public hearing in the Recreation Center
at Don Showman Memorial Park to consider a general increase in
the percentage of assessment to be used in assessing all properties,
both real and personal for the taxing year of 1964. In accordance
with Article VI, Section 15 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of
Farmers Branch, all taxpayers were notified in the Farmers Branch
Times, the official newspaper of the City of Farmers Branch, that
they may be present at this meeting if they so desire.
Mayor Airoldi called the meeting to order. He explained the reason
for the hearing and gave examples on a blackboard. The Mayor and
other members of the Council answered question from the audience.
Councilman Oradat moved that the hearing be closed, seconded by
Councilman Hamilton, all voting "ayes".
RESOLUTION - SET TAX PERCENTAGE OF ASSESSMENT
Councilman Hamilton moved, set tax percentage of assessed.valuation
at 50%, instruct the City Manager to prepare the next fiscal budget
(1964-1965) on the basis of $1.05 tax rate and authorize the Mayor
to sign the resolution; seconded by Councilman Oradat, all voting
"ayes".
ADDITIONAL "MUD-JACKING" ON CITY STREETS
Councilman Oradat moved, additional mud-jacking be authorized at
12620 Sunglow, seconded by Councilman Hamilton, all voting "ayes".

I.B.M. INSTALLATION
After discussion on installing an I.B.M. System in the City Hall
Councilman Oradat moved that this installation be tabled for the
time being, motion died for lack of a second.
Councilman Hamilton moved, lease I.B.M. equipment and authorize
the Mayor to sign the contract, seconded by Councilman Tippitt,
Councilmen Tippitt and Hamilton voting "ayes", Councilman Oradat
voting "nay".
