MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING

Mayor Airoldi called the meeting to order to canvass the ballots of
a Bond Election held on June 20, 1964.
Upon a motion by Councilman Oradat, a second by Councilman Hamilton,
all voting "ayes", a resolution was passed canvassing returns and
declaring results on the three propositions as follows:

RESOLUTION - STREET PROJECT NO. 32 - FINAL PAYMENT
Upon a motion by Councilman Oradat, a second by Councilman Rhodes,
all voting "ayes", a resolution was passed whO-reas this project has
been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications; that
final payment in the amount of $17,435.63 be authorized and that pay-
ment be made from funds previously allocated to this project.
BILLBOARDS AND SIGNS IN "L-M" AND "H-M" AREAS
Senator George Parkhouse appeared before the Council speaking for
billboards and signs. He asked the Council to consider an ordinance
such as those passed by Carrollton, Garland, Dallas and Irving. The
Council assured him that this would be considered.

FIREWORKS SALES IN FARMERS BRANCH
Councilman Rhodes moved, allow fireworks stands at the three locations
per letters from the City Manager, granting continuance for this holi-
day only (July 4, 1964), instruct the City Manager that under no cir-
cumstances will fireworks sales be permitted in the city limits ever
again; seconded by Councilman Upfield. Councilmen Rhodes, Oradat and
Upfield voting "ayes", Councilman Hamilton voting "nay".
