Orman City Manager 1 1 PROPOSAL REGARDING EXTENSION OF VALWOOD PARKWAY AND SIX ACRES UPON WHICH IS LOCATED THE CITY'S SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT Mayor Airoldi reported on results of a meeting held on June 24 in Louis Nichols' office, present at which were Mayor Airoldi, Dr. L. S. Thompson, Sr., Mr. Cleo Thompson, City Attorney Louis Nichols and City Manager J. M. Orman. Mayor Airoldi reported that the following proposal was made and that it would be presented to the Council for their consideration: Relative To The Six Acres The City would: 1. Agree to shift the six-acre tract eastward approxi- mately 178.5 feet or to a point where the east property line would coincide with the center line of a 57-foot roadway between Valley View Lane and the 6-acre tract. 2. Fill and level the six acres as well as some adjoining property belonging to Dr. Thompson the leveling on Dr. Thompson's property to be done only to the extent that spare dirt in the area permitted. 3. Dedicate for public use one-half of the right-of-way needed for a street along the east line of six acres. 4. Accept the dedication of the remaining one-half of the public street along the east line of the six acres together with a 57-foot right-of-way dedication from the southeast corner of the six acres southward to Valley View Lane and relieve Dr. Thompson of all paving obligations on said street. 5. Completely enclose the dedicated street with a fence so that livestock could not get into the street. Page 82 Dr. Thompson would: 1. Release present restrictions on the six acres which limit its use to a sewage treatment plant. 2. Dedicate the street right-of-way as outlined in Item 4 (above) with the understanding that he would not have any paving obligations in connection therewith. Relative To Valwood Parkway Extension The City would: 1. Approve a realignment of the westward extension of Valwood Parkway so that a reverse curve to the north could be made on Dr. Thompson's property so that the north right-of-way of Valwood Parkway would coincide with the city limit line in that area. 2. Pay 756 of the cost of paving the south 30-foot con- crete pavement across Dr. Thompson's property which lies inside the city limits of Farmers Branch. Dr. Thompson would: 1. Dedicate a 100-foot right-of-way along the realignment route. 2. Construct the north 30-foot concrete pavement at no cost to the City in accordance with City specifications. 3. Construct and pay 25% of the paving costs on the south 30-foot concrete pavement in accordance with City specifications (see Item 2 above). Councilman Upfield made a motion that the above proposal be approved and accepted, seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Hamilton, all voting "ayes". Adjourned 7:45 a.m. A. J. J. M. O man, City Manager 1 Page 83
