Councilman Oradat was absent -
Mayor Airoldi called the meeting to order to canvass the ballots
of a Bond Election held on Saturday, August 8, 1964.
Upon a motion by Councilman Tippitt, a second by Councilman Hamilton,
all voting "ayes',' a resolution was passed canvassing returns and
declaring results as follows:
FOR the issuance of Park Bonds - 223
AGAINST the Issuance of Park Bonds - 487
TRAFFIC SIGNAL LIGHTS
The Council authorized advertise for bids on traffic signals at
Valley View Lane and Denton Drive and Valley View Lane and Bee
Street upon a motion by Councilman Tippitt, a second by Councilman
Rhodes, all voting "ayes".
SIDEWALK ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
Approximately 15 owners of property on Tom Field Road were present
to protest the sidewalk assessment program along the west side of
Tom Field Road. After discussion Councilman Upfield moved, delete
this portion of the program from Street Project No. 39, seconded
by Councilmen Hamilton; Councilmen Upfield, Hamilton and Tippitt
voting "ayes", Councilman Rhodes voting "nay".
The Council then requested the City Manager to get information on
requiring sidewalks installed in all future development in the city.
