1961-03-13 CC MinutesMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS March 13, 1961 The City Council met in a special meeting on March 13, 1961 at the Community Building at 7;00 p.m., with the following members present: Mayor. Oley E. Attebery Councilmen Sam Page H. N. Mallon Don Knox Bill Hamilton City Manager J. M. Orman Assistant City Manager John C. Dodson City Secretary Dorthanna Williams City Attorney H. Louis Nichols Mayor Pro-Tem Wilsey was absent. Mayor Attebery called the meeting to order. Councilman Page gave the invocation Mayor Attebery explained this meeting was called to consider the restric- tions for the Metropolitan Medical. Center. Each Councilman had sent in a list of proposed restrictions; these were compiled, typed and mailed to each Councilman and copies were mailed to Mr. Hugh Steger, representing the Medical Center and to Mr. Bill Patterson, employed by a group of adjacent property owners to represent them. Mr. Patterson said they would like to have more time to study these restrictions. They felt they did not have adequate time to study them and come up with ideas of their own. Mr. G., C. Adkins, 3139 Myra Lane, asked some questions concerning the restrictions and said he would like to have more time for study. Councilman Mallon said, we thought it a courtesy to the property owners to make an effort to cooperate with them in drawing up these restric- tions, not an obligation. Councilman Page suggested the opponents and the proponents be given a week to get any ideas or suggestions in to City Attorney Nichols so he will be able to draft an ordinance for the Council's study. The Council was in agreement to this suggestion. Mayor Attebery said, we do not want to restrict them so that they will be unable to build. The meeting was closed and the Council went into-executive session. No formal action was taken by the Council. Adjournment, Dorthanna Williams, City Secretary Page 63
