1957-01-21 CC MinutesMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF GOUNCILMEN FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS JANUARY 21, 1957 The City Council met in a regular meeting on January 21, 1957, at 7:30 PM, at the City Hall with the following present: Mayor Lawson Lewis Councilmen Janes Brodhead John Wilsey and H. N. W.Ilon City Man. John J. Gray City Secy. Naomi Goodnight Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order. Councilman Wilsey gave the,invoeation. The minutes were then read and approved as read. NEW COUNCILMAN Dewayne White was sworn in as a City Councilman by Secretary Naomi Goodnight. Mr. White was appointed by Mayor Lewis to fill the term of Bayne Gibson, who had resigned because of a transfer from Farmers Branch. ANNEXATION ORDINANCE, #123 The final reading of Annexation Ordinance #123 was delayed by the Council until problems can be worked out with Carrollton and Addison on land in the City's drainage area. A large number of property owners attended the Council meeting to hear explanation from the Council con- cerning the annexation of property east to Inwood Road and west to the Trinity River. ORDINANCE - FIRST READING The first reading of Annexation Ordinance #12,f was accepted on a motion by Councilman Wilsey, seconded by Councilman Brodhead. All approved this reading at 9:20 PM. This annexation is the northeast corner connecting Addison, Farmers Branch and Dallas. LIFT STATION WCATTON Manager Gray reported to the Council that negotiations were being made with Mr. Jack Lively for property for the lift station to Dallas sewer lines. CHANGE IN EASEMENTS. On a motion made by Councilman Brodhead, seconded by Councilman Mallon, the Council approved a change in the easement for the sewer line along the Chicago-Rock Island Railroad. Instead of-crossing the Byer property the line would cut back along the Keenan Bridge Road and across Valley View Lane if Mrs. Dyer will not agree to sign easement papers based on the original engineering plan. REFUSE BQITDING PERMITS ON LOTS 4TT DELINQUENT TAXES On a motion by Councilman Mallon, seconded by Councilman White, the Council approved an ordinance authorizing the City Building Inspector to refuse to insure building permits on property which has delinquent taxes due.
