1957-08-19 CC MinutesMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF COUNCILMEN FARMERS BgANCH, TEIAS AUGUST 191 1957 The City Council met in a regular meeting on August 19, 1957, at 7:30 P. M. at the City Hall with the following present: Mayor Councilmen Acting City Mgr. City Secretary Mayor Lewis called the meeting Lawson Lewis H. N. Mallon John Wilsey Janes Brodhead Lyman Goodnight Naomi Goodnight to order. Rev. Bourdon Smith, Pastor of Christ Methodist Church, brought the invocation. The minutes were read and approved as read. VALLEY VIEW VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER PLAT Mr. H. L. McQueen presented the alley View Village Shopping Center plat to the council with certification on same. The time limit to start construction was set at 18 months. PLANNING AND ZONING REPORT Mr. George Hixon, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended to the council that all future houses will not have driveways into the main street. Mr. Nixon showed a preliminary plat of the Bardena Corp. development in Farmers Branch. M. K. T. SPUR TRACK Councilman on told the council that he had talked with Mr. Ned Kerr and Mr. Webb Roberts, acid also the Katy Railroad Co. representative. The Katy approved the wording of the ordinance removing the spur track from across Highway 77 into Mr. noberts' property. TAX ROLL FOR 1957 On a motion by Councilman &odhead, seconded by Councilman Mallon, a resolution was approved, stating that the 1957 tax roll was assessed in the amount of $7,778,718.00. 1957-58 BUDGET The budg discussion was delayed because of the absence of Mr. John Gray, City Manager. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned 80 City Secretary
