The City Council met in a regular meeting on November 4, 1957 at 7:30
P. M. at the City Hall with the following present:

Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order.
The invocation was brought by Burt Groves, Minister of the Webb Chapel

Church of Christ. The minutes were then read and approved as read.
CARWILE PROPERTY
The council discussed the Carwile and Fry property on Tom Field Road, off
Valley View Lane North,as a possible park site. Councilman Mallon recommended
that Mrs. Carwile be contacted and obtain her approval to let the Dallas Real
Estate Board appraise this property sothLan would be no misunderstanding as
to the cost.
DEVELCPER W. L. EA%NHART
Mr. W. L. Barnhart met with the council concerning the 35 acre tract at
Dennis and Valley View. The council discussed the recommendation of the Planning
and Zoning Commission concerning the application for a special permit to locate
a shopping center on this tract. "Ur. Earnhart showed the council sketches of
the proposed buildings and parking.
ANNEXATION ORDINsNCE #141
On a motion duly made and seconded, the council passed on the second and
final readings on six tracts of land adjacent to the present city limits.
This annexation ordinance is known as #141 and consists of the following tracts:
R. B. George Estate
Brookhollow
Sunbeck Circle
Fyke property east of Josey Lane and south of Crosb$ Road

Nix property south of Crosby Road
Good property at Valwood Parkway and Highway 77.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SIGNATURES AT BANKS
On a motion duly made and seconded, the council passed the following
resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Farmers Branch, Texas, that
any two of the following named persons, to-wit: Lawson Lewis, John J. Gray or
Naomi Goodnight, are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to sign for and
on behalf of the City all checks and,/or drafts issued by the City of Farmers
Branch, and paid through either the Mercantile National Bank at Dallas, Dallas,
Texas, or the 1)alla.s County State Bank at Garrollton, Texas.
ORDINANCE #142 INCREASING CITY PLAN COMMISSION
The council, upon motion made.and duly seconded, approved an ordinance
increasing the Planning and Zoning Commission from five to seven members.
Two new men were named to fill present vacancies and two were appointed to fill
the two newly created openings. Those appointed were:

Rufus Hunsaker
Olie Attebery
Vito Accarito
BOND REPORT
Engineers Strachan and King reported to the council, the progress of the
proposed water and sewer lines to be constructed under the new bond program.
USE OF N9vu C01,943NITY BUILDING FOR PRIMARY ELECTIONS
The council granted permission to the Republican and Democratic Parties
to hold primary elections in July, 1958 in the new Community Building.
APPROVAL OF PA {W TS
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the council approved the following
payments: $40.00 on report of printing and survey for Baptist College
$200.00 for 1/3 of the printing of the brochure
$20.00 for Flu vaccine for City Employees.
AUDIT
City Manager uray reported to the council that the independent audit of the
City's financee is now being made by R. B. Smith, CPA.
RrFUSE DISPOSkL ARTA
City Manager Gray informed the council that an additional refuse disposal
area has been secured by the City from Gillord-Hill and Co. and Mrs. Adair Dyer.
The new area is west on Valley View Lane near Keenan Bridge Road.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
