BOARD OF COUNCILMEN
FARM BRANCH, TEXAS
DECEMBER 16, 1957
The City Council met in a regular meeting on December 16, 1957 at 7:30 P. M.
at the City Hall with the following present:
Mayor Lawson Lewis
Councilmen Thomas Reeder
H. N. Mallon
John Wilsey
Dewayne White
City Manager John Gray
City Secretary Naomi Goodnight
Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order.
The invocation was brought by Councilman Wilsey. The minutes were then read
and approved as read.
ATTEBERY APPOINTED COUNCILMAN
On aumotion by Councilman Reeder, seconded by Councilman Wilsey, the council
appointed Oley Attebery to serve the remainder of Janes Brodhead's term as
councilman. Mr. Attebery then took the oath of office.
C0,MMERCIAL SEWER RATE
Mr. Lott and Mr. Brown of the Speed Washateria met with the council to
discuss the sewer rate for commercial users. The present rate is 60% of all
water used. The washateria owners asked for an explanation to the present rates
as compared to other towns. The council asked City Manager Gray to make a study
of this problem and report at the next council meeting.
CONTRACTOR'S AND ENGEWEER'S ESTIMATES
Engineer Joe J. Rady's estimate #l,on Street Improvements and Storm Drains
in Portions of Richland add Bee Streets, was $2945.31. Engineer Rady's estimate
#1 on 16" Water feeder main in Spring Malley and Valwood Parkway, was $2810.71.
Taylor and Beckham., Connunity Building Contraetorb Statement #1, was $11,895.00.
A motion to pay these amounts was made by Councilman Mallon, seconded by Council-
man Reeder. All approved.
COMMITTEES
Councilman Wilsey discussed with the council, the group of committees that
had been approved by the council for study on several important problems. He
suggested that perhaps the committees, when formed, could report to an appointed

Councilman, who in turn would report to the council.
SWIMING POOL SITE, BOUNDARIES, TRUNK SEWER-LINE
The council had a discussion on the Swimming Pool site, the boundaries of
Farmers Branch, Addison, and Carrollton, and the Sewer line crossing Mr. Mallon's
property. No action was taken on any of these discussions.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
