The City Council met in a regular meeting on February 17, 1958 at 7:30 P. M.
at the City Hall with the following present:

Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order,
Rev. Bourdon Smith, pastor of the Christ Methodist church, brought the

invocation. The minutes were then read by Secretary Goodnight and approved as
read.
TABULATION OF BIDS ON STREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR HAV NRST, PEPPERWOOD AND RANDX
The city counci.1 tabulated the bids on the proposed paving for Havenhurst,
Pepperwood, and Randy Lane. The lowest bid was submitted by Uvalde Construction
Co. of Dallas in the amount of $54,978.76. The next two lowest bidders were
O'Neal Construction Co., 59,088.40 and Thomas Contracting Co.,$59,671.60.
Councilman Reeder made the motion to award the contract to Uvalde Construction
Co. Councilman Wilsey seconded this motion. All approved,
ENGINEER'S REPORT
Engineer Bob King reported the progress of the paving of Richland and
Bee Streets. He also discussed with the council the sewer easements needed
by the city on the W. R. Hughes and Wallace Skinner properties. The council
instructed City Manager Gray to get a real estate appraiser to appraise these
properties and find the true value of them, also how the easement would affect
the property.
PIPE LINE LICENSE WITH )I-K= RAILROAD CO.
The council passed a resolution authorising Mayor Lewis to sign a pipd
line license from the K K-T Railroad Co. allowing the city to go under their
tracks with a water line. The life time fee for this license is $20.00

CITY BOUNDARY LINE
The council asked City Planner Bob Hol.lin and Consultant Engineer Bob King
to prepare a boundary map showing the west portion of the country that would
make a proper line for our city and Carrollton. This map would show accurate
drainage for Farmers Branch area, and will be shown to the council at the next
regular meeting .
PLATTING RULES AND REGULATIONS
City Planner Bob Hollin discussed with the council the platting rules
and regulations.
VOLUNTEER FIREMEN ALLOWANCE
The council authorized $5.00 compensation per regular meeting, based on
attendance record as a clothing allowance to volunteer firemen.
MURPHY NURSERY
Mra. Pat Murphy met with the council asked again to be allowed to put a
day nursery sign on her fence in the residential area. The council referred
her request to the planning and zoning commission.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
