The City Council met in a special meeting at the City Hall on April 3, 1958
at 12:20 P. M. with the following present:

John Gray
Naomi Goodnight
Sam Page
Mayor Lewis called the meeting to order at 12:25 P. M.
CANDIDATE DRAWING
In the form of a resolution, Councilman Attebery made a motion, seconded
by Councilman White to halve Secretary Goodnight draw the candidates names from
a hat for position on the voting ballots and the positions would be as drawn.
Fisrt drawn, fiast on the ballot, second drawn, second on ballot ,etc.
The vote was unanimous.
DONALD H. SNOWMAN NAME REMOVED
Because of the death of Donald H. Showman, as according to the chakter
his name should be removed from the voting ballot. On a motion by Councilman
Attebery, seconded by Councilman Reeder, the council removed his same.
DRAWING
The following positions were drawn by Secretary Goodnight from a hat
held by Civil Defense Director Sam Page:

The motion was made by Councilman Wilsey, seconded by Councilman White, to

accept these positions as drawn. The council approved unanimously.
AMENDMENT TO FEB. 25, 1958 RESOLUTION FOR ELECTION OFFICIALS
The council passed an amendment to section 4, of the Feb. 25, 1958 resolu-
tion which named the judges and clerks, for the city election of April 5, 1958
replacing two persons who became inelgible to help in the election because they
became candidates. Mrs. Flora Rowe was made Presiding Judge in place of her
original appointment of Judge, replacing Delbert D. Moore Jr.
Mrs. Alva Cartwright was appointed Judge, and Mrs. Peggy Maness was
appointed clerk in Robert Whitten's place. This motion was made by Councilman
Reeder, seconded by Attebery. The vote was unanimous.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:45 P.. M.
