FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS
June 9, 1953
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held at City Hall
on June 9, 1953 at 7:30 P. M.,Vith the following Aldermen present:
Mayor Lawson Lewis
Thomas Reeder
H. N. Mallon
R. J. Knight
J. W. Culpepper
Mayor Lewis presided and E. N Kerr acted as secretary.
CLINIC PLANS
On motion made by H. N. Mallon, seconded by Thomas Reeder, unanimous
approval was given the building plans submitted by Dr. A. W. Drynan for the
erection of his clinic to be erected on Valley View Lane in the Farmersdell
Addition.
BUILDING CODE
Mayor Lewis called on Mr. J. W. Culpepper, Chairman of the Building
Code Committee, to report findin;s at an early date.
SEWER RATE FOR THOMPSON CAN COMPANY
On motion made by Thomas Reeder, seconded by R. J. Knight, unanimous
approval was given a special concession on the sewer rate to be charged
Thompson Can Company. Effective immediately the firmis sewage bills for
any of the months of MAy through September are.to be no higher than the
highest bill paid for the months of October through April immediately
preceding.
ANNEXATION
Plans were discussed to annex to the City of Farmers Branch the
territory west to and including the river, south to Dallas, north to
the extention of Spring Valley Road, and east to Marsh Lane. On motion
made by H. N. Mallon, seconded by Thomas Reeder, Mayor Lewis was unanimously
instructed to have Mr. Bell draw up the necessary petitions to.annex
the above described territory.

MISSOURI-KANSAS-TEXAS RAILROAD PROPERTY
After discussion of plans of the Missouri-Kansas-Tess Railroad to
lease certain property adjacent to the railroad and south of the railroad
station adjacent to a residential area, it was the consensus of the Board
of Aldermen that the property does not lend itself to use as a site for
manufacturing or warehousing. Mr. H. N. Mallon was instructed to advise
the railroad management of the Boardts objection to such use.
CURRENT BILLS
Current bills in the amount of $495.87 were ordered paid.
