FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS
SEPTEMBER 14, 1954
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held at 7:30 at City
Hall with the following present:
Mayor Lawson Lewis
Aldermen R. J. Knight
J. W. Culpepper
B. A. Marcom
H. N. Mallon
Thomas Reeder
WATER & SEWER EXTENSIONS
The question of furnishing water and sewer to sub-divisions being developed,
was discussed and methods of financing the improvements was talked about.
A motion was made by H. N. Mallon authorizing Joe Rady and Co., Engineers, to
project figures on expenses and Mercantile National Bank and R. A. Underwood
Co. to prepare a bond issue of approximately $450,000 in such manner that it
can be serviced by the present net revenue system plus Mr. Rady's future
projections and to negotiate with the present holders of the outstanding revenue
bonds, whereby they would surrender the same as to the best advantages of the
City for the purpose of refunding. The motion was seconded by R. J. Knight,
and carried unanimously by all. Results of the projections by Mr. Rady were
to be furnished by the next meeting, with their recommendations.
BUDGET DISCUSSION
Mr. Robert Watson of Farmers Branch was interested in setting up a budget
and is willing to work with the City of this budget.
ANNEXATIONS
A. W. Clouston reported on the annexation problems and suggested a meeting
with the Board of Directors of the Gun Club to discuss their problems. Mr.
Mallon and Mayor Lewis were appointed to go with Mr. Clouston.
PLANS FOR NFW ADDITION
Mr. Grady Cates, Mr. Kersey, Mr. Bowers and Mr. Lewis submitted a plan on
their addition.

CURRENT BILLS
A motion was made to pay all bills except the Transport Clearing Bill
of $33.28 and the County bill of $1281..78, by Mr. Mallon and seconded by R. J.
Knight. The motion carried and the meeting then adjourned.
