1955-03-08 CC MinutesMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS MARCH 8, 1955 The Council met in a regular meeting on March 8, 1955, at the City Hall at 700 PM with the following presents Mayor Lawson Lewis Aldermen R. J. W§h't J. W. Culpepper Thomas Reeder B. A. Marcom H. N. Mallon The minutes were read and approved as read. HAWN ANNEXATION The second reading of the Hawn property was read and approved. Motion to annex said Tract #2 of the Hawn Property was made by Mr. Knight, and seconded by Mr. Culpepper. This motion carried. DAY NURSERY ON HOLBROOK The question of a day nursery on Holbrook Drive by Mrs. H. L. Murphy was discussed by the Zoning Commission and City Council jointly. The Zoning Commission decided to write Mrs. Murphy a letter asking her to secure the signatures of the residents within a two block area to the effect that they are willing for her to operate a nursery. CITY PARK A motion was made by Mr. Reeder, seconded by Mr. Mallon, that the Park Board by allowed funds to clean out the creek in the park. The motion carried. PUMPS FOR COOK'S BRANCH SEWER On a motion made by Mr. Mallon, seconded by Mr. Culpepper, the Council decided to order pumps for the new sewer line on Cook's Branch from Fairbanks-Morse who were the lowest bidders. Motion carried. CITY MARSHAL A motion was made by Mr. Marcom, seconded by Mr. Culpepper to appoint Co M. Jones;City Marshal, to fill the term of Everett Holt, who resigned. The motion carried. 9 STREET LIGHTS Texas Power and Light Company was authorized to install more street lights in the City, by a motion made by Mr. Mallon, seconded by Mr. Culpepper. Unanimous approval. CURRENT BILLS On a motion made by Mr. Reeder, seconded by Mr. Culpepper, the current bills were approved for payment. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
