1955-03-22 CC MinutesMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS MARCH 22, 1955 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held at the City Hall on larch 22, 1955, with the following present: Mayor Lawson Lewis Aldermen J. W. Culpepper R. J. Knight B. A. Natcom Thomas Reeder H. N. Mallon (absent) Attorney J. G. Blanchette City Secy. Naomi Goodnight The minutes were read and approved as read. VALWOOD PARK SECTION 3 The Zoning Committee, R. A. Garrision and George Hixon, met with the City Council and presented a suggestion in letter form that all houses in the D residential section of Valwood Park have at least 900 Square feet as required in the D Zoning. On A motion made by B. A. Marcom and seconded by J. W. Culpepper, Plat #3 of Valwood Park was unanimously approved. CITY PROPERTY ON EPPS FIELD On a motion made by R. J. Knight and seconded by J. W. Culpepper, unanimous approval was given to sell the 40 feet of property the city owns on Epps Field Drive between 12723 and 12801 to Mr. Dan Showman and Mr. William Davis, owners of the adjoining properties. Mr. Davis purchased 28 feet and Mr. Showman, 12 feet. This was sold with the agreement that a 15 feet easement for a storm sewer, utility or any other purpose desired by the city be reserved on the south side of the 28 feet strip. NEW ORDINANCES DISCUSSION Mr. Jim Blanchette, city attorney, is to check into the following proposed ordinances: 1. Business water deposits. 2. Violation of anyone using fire hydrants and water main valves other than tb the city. i -z i 3. Violation for driving on the new streets under construction until the 7 day period of waiting is up. 4. An ordinance requiring all who burn trash have a properificin6katbr- which meets the approval of the Fire Marshal. METER CONTRACT RENEWAL A motion was made by Thomas Reeder, seconded by B. A. Marcom to renew the meter contract with Viking Supply Corporation, to furnish the city 300 meters at 25 meters per month at the same rate of the old contract. All councilmen approved. sets of bids were opened by Doc Remsburg posted by Bob King, Engineer for Joe Rady Company, on the sewer main and appurtenances in Valwood Park Addition. E. E. Farrow Company's bid was low in the amount of $44,602.24. A motion was made by J. W. Culpepper, seconded by R. J. Knight to award the contract to E. E. Farrow Company. All approved. ABANDON A PART OF TOM FIELD ROAD A motion to abandon a part of Tom Field Road was made by Thomas Reeder and seconded by R. J. Knight. All approved. CAMP FIRE GIRL'S VISITORS The Camp Fire Girls attended the Council Meeting as visitors with their leaders, Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Wilson. Mr. Grady Cates presented an over all map showing the new streets of Valwood Park Addition. On a motion by J. W. Culpepper and seconded by R. J.
