1955-09-28 CC MinutesMMTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMM FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS SEPTEMBER 28, 1955 The Board of Aldermen met in a regular meeting on September 28, 1955, at the City Hall with the following present: Mayor Lawson Lewis Aldermen Thodas Reeder R. J. Knight H. N. Mallon B. A. Marcom J. W. Culpepper Attorney J. G. Blanchette Acting Seely Irman Goodnight The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lewis. The minutes were then read and approved as read. GAS INSPECTION ORDINANCE_ Mr. Louis Marshal and Mr. Crim of the Lone Star Gas Company met with the Council to discuss the possibility of the City doing the gas inspection at each house or business before a meter is set. Mr. Blanchette was asked to check over the ordinance the Gas Company would like the city to pass. AD, VERTZSING SIGNS IN RESIDENTIAL AREA Mr. E. J. Taylor met with the Council to discuss the advertising signs in yards of residents where property was not commercial and was not complying with the zoning ordinance. Mr. Blanchette was asked to write letters to these residents explaining the sign section of the Zoning Ordinance. VAIWOOD PARK STREET_ LIGHTS A motion was made by Mr. Reeder, seconded by Mr. Mallon, to write Texas Power and Light Company a letter requesting street lights in Valwood Park Addition. All approved. BUILDING INSPECTOR The Council asked lyman Goodnight to take application for a building inspector. BIDS ON TRUCK The Council asked Lyman Goodnight to prepare a list and take bids on a 3A ton pick-up track. CURRENT BILLS Caa a motion by Mr. Culpepper, seconded by Mr. Marcom, the Council approved payment of the current bills. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. City Secretary 1
