MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF
BOARD OF ALDERMEN
FARMERS BRANCH,TEXAS
MARCH 13, 1956
The City Council met at the City Hall at 7:00 P. M. an March 13, 1956,
All the candidates running for offices met to draw lots to see what position
their names would be placed on the voting machine.
At 7:30 P. M. the regular meeting started with these present:

LETTER. ELGIN CRULL. PUBLIC HEALTH
Mayor Lewis read a letter from Elgin Crull, Dallas City Manager, concerning
public health.
STREET LIGHT AGREEMENT
On a motion made by Mr. Culpepper, seconded by Mr. Knight, the Council
extended the street light agreem6nt from March 1, 1956 to March 11 1966
with the Texas Power 8 Light Company. This motion carried.
CITY MARSHAL OFFICE
On a motion made by Mr. Reeder, seconded by Mr. Culpepper, the Council
approved an ordinance dispensing with the office of city marshal.
INSURANCE ON AUTOMOBILE FLFET
Mr. Bob Langdon explained that the insurance is easier and cheaper
to take out all automobile policies in Automobile Fleet Insurande; on
a motion by Mr. Culpepper,seconded, by Mr. Knight the council approved
to carry all truck and cars in one fleet policy.
CONTRACT WITH DALLAS ON SEWER LINES
The Council approved the contract with the City of Dallas to tie Farmers
Branch into their sewer lines. This contract was for 5 years. This motion
was made by Mr. Reeder,seconded by Mr. Culpepper.

ENGINEER'S ESTIMITES
Joe J. Rady Company Engineer's estimates in the amount of $7.13 and
$570.63 were approved for payment on a motion made by Mr. Knight,
seconded by Mr. Reeder.
PETITION ON HAWN PROPERTY TO BELT LINE ROAD.
On a motion made by Mr. Reeder, seconded by Mr. Knight, the Council
accepted the petition of Air. W. R. Hawn for annexation 500 feet to Belt
Line Road.
PUBLIC HEATTH ADVISORY BOARD
On a motion made by Mr. Reeder, seconded by Mr. Culpepper, the Council
accepted the recommendation of the Public Health Advisory Board to appoint
Mayor Walter Blanton of Carrollton as the representative to the Board for
this area.
CURRENT BILLS
The current bills were approved to be paid by a motion by Mr. Knight,
seconded by Mr. Culpepper.
No further business, the meeting adjourned.
