FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS
MARCH 27, 1956
The City Council met in a regular meeting at 7230 P.M.
at the City Hall on March 27, 1956 with the following members present.
Mayor Lawson Lewis
Aldermen H. N. Mallon
Thos. Reeder
R. J. Knight
J. W. Culpepper
B. A. Marcom was absent
Feting was called to order by Mayor Lewis.
EXTRA PAVING IN CHAPEL HIL
A motion was made by Mr. Mallon, seconded by Mr. Culpepper not

to pave the extra 13 ft, of street around the Dallas School Property in
the Chapel Hill Addition. This will be paved at a later date. This
motion carried.
ANNEXATION OF NCI SHER PROPERTY ON MARSH LANE
A motion was made by Mr. Mallon, seconded by Mr. Knight to

accept the annexing ordinance on 80 acres of land at Marsh Lane and
Valley View owned by Mr. Raymond Nasher. This motion carried unanimously.
Petition was previously passed.
ANNEXATION OF HAWN PROPERTY TO BELT LINE ROAD
Recently the City of Addison disannexed 500 ft. of property

belonging to Mr, Fritz Hawn, along Belt Line Road. Mr, Hawn presented a
petition to the City of Farmers Branch for annexation of said property
into our city limits.

The motion to accept this pe*iftm was made by Mr. Culpepper, seconded
by Mr. Knight. The motion carried.

SPEED LIMIT ON HIGHWAY
During the time the present construction is going on on BS►.77
the Council had Mr. Blanchette draw up an ordinance changing the speed
linit from 50 miles per hr. to 35 miles per hr. The motion was made
by Mr. Mallon and 2nd by Thomas Reeder to accept this ordinance.
Motion carried.
QUICK CLAI DEED RIGHT OF WAY
A motion was made by Mr. Mallon, 2nd by Mr. Culpepper to
accept the quick clain deed on the right of way in Chapel Hill Addition.
This motion carried.
TAXI ORDINANCE
Mr. Gaston Chambers had met with the Council about operating
his taxi service in Farmers Branch. Mr. Blanchette drew up a taxi
franchise ordinance and presented it to the Council. A motion was made
by Mr. Reeder, 2nd by Mr. Culpepper to accept this ordinance authorizing
Mr. Chambers to operate his taxis here. This motion carried.
ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF SPRING VALLEY ROAD
A motion was made by Mr. Culpepper 2nd by Mr. Mallon to accept
the ordinance of abandonment of a portico of Spzring Q y Road. This
motion carried.
CURRENT BILL
After Mayor Lewis and Council's approval a motion to pay the
current bill was made by H. N. Mallon and 2nd by J. W. Culpepper. This
motion carried.
PERMIT TO TRIPPLE A OIL CO.
A permit will be granted to Triple A. Oil Co. if they comply
with the 7-11 style of building and brick minus the iron grill work, in

the Valley View Shopping Center. This motion to grant the permit was
made by Mr. Mallon, 2nd by Mr. Culpepper. Motion Carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
