BOARD OF ALDERMEN

A meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held at City Hall on
April 10, 1956 at 7:30 P.M. with the following Aldermen present, con-
stituting a quorum.
Mayor Lawson Lewis
Aldermen H. N. Mallon
Thos. Reeder
W. Bayne Gibson
John Wilsey
James Brodhead
Meeting was opened by a prayer by Bayne Gibson, Oath of office
read and new aldermen sworn in by Naomi Goodnight, City Secretary.
Minutes read and approved by H. N. Mallon, seconded by Thomas Reeder.
There was no old business to be brought up.
CENTRAL SEWER DISCUSSION
Mayor Lewis read a letter from Ben Carpenter of Trinity River
Authority of Texas. The Aldermen and Mr. Remsburg discussed the possibility
of a central sewer for several towns. This sewer system was approved in
principal.
INVITATION TO THE GREATER DALLAS CO. MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION
Mayor Lewis read an invitation letter from Mr. Stitt to attend a
meeting of the Greater Dallas Co. Municipal Association at Garland on
April 20, 1956.
CONTRACT WITH CITY OF DALLAS
The contract with the City of Dallas on water and sewer was pres-
ented to the Council. A motion to approve this contract with one change
was made by Thomas Reeder, seconded by John Wilsey. The corrected change
was to be approved by Mayor Lewis, Engineer Remsburg and Attorney Blanchette.

All approved this motion.
PRTITION ON GRAVLEY PROPERTY
A petition on the Grav?ey (Esther Hal.liburton) property on Webb
Chapel Road, was presented for annexation. A motion was made by Mr. Mallon
seconded by Thomas Reeder, to accept resolution on said petition. All aldermen
approved this motion.
ENGINEERS ESTIMATES
Mr. Remsburg of Rady & Co., presented for payment, the following
estimates: $503.54 engineering fee to Rady & Co., $10,021.36 sewer and water
contract payments to E. E. Farrow & Co. The motion to pay said payments was
made by Thomas Reeder, seconded by James Brodhead. All approved.
HAVENHU-SST STR7ET CURBING
Mr. J. B. Kelley and Mr. James L. Tuttle met with the Council in reference
to Havenhurst St. Cutbing and guttering. Mayor Lewis informed these men that no
plans at present time had been made to curb or gutter this street.
TAX COLLECTOR
A motion was made by Thomas Reeder, seconded by H. N. Mallon for Mayor
Lewis to hire a full time Tax Assessor & Collector. This motion carried.
CURMNT BILLS
Motion to pay current bills, was made by Mr. Mallon, seconded by Mr. Reeder.
All approved.
COUNCIL MEETING CHANGE
A motion was made by Mr. Reeder seconded by Mr. Gibson to change the
regular meeting nightof the City Council from second-°and fourth Tuesdays to
first and third Mondays. Meeting time at 7:30. The next regular meeting will
be April 24, 1956 then beginning May 7, 1956 at new time. Motion carried.
