BOARD OF ALDERMEN
FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS
MAY 7, 1956
The City Council met in a regular meeting at 7:30 P.M.
at the City Hall on May 7, 1956 with the following members present.
Mayor Lawson Lewis
Aldermen Thomas Reeder
W. Bayne Gibson
John Wilsey
James Brodhead
H. N. Mallon was absent
Wm. Blalock represented the firm of Lyne, Blanchette & Smith,
attorneys. Doc Remsberg & Bob King represented the Joe J. Rady Co.
The meeting was opened by prayer by Bayne Gibson.
The minutes were then read by Mrs. Goodnight. They were

approved as read.
ENGINEERS ESTIMATES & REPORTS
Mr. Remsberg of Joe Rady Co. reported to the council an the
engineering in the City of Farmers Branch. He preented the estimates
for payment in the amounts of Eng. Estimate #12 $21.80, Eng. Estimate
#15 $881.51, and contractors Estimate #14A $149691.79. The motion to
pay these estimates was made by Alderman Reeder, seconded by Alderman
Wilsey. All approved this motion.
DRAINAGE ON EPPS FIELD
The problem of sewer drainage on Epps Field was discussed by

the aldermen and engineers. This descussion was how to correct the
sewer lines which become overloaded with water from heavy rains. The
suggestion for correcting this was to bypass the area that might be
flooded and run the lines directly into Rawhide Creek to carry away the
excess water,

QUICK SIT RED
Mr. Warren Kerr reported to the City Council on the budget
and quick audit. The audit shows the city can pay one more edployee
at the present time.
GARBAGE P K-UP IN EAR
A report on the garbage pick-up in easements was made by Mayor
Lewis. Mr. Moore is agreeable to pick-up in all easements that he can.
The Done Star Gas Co. is to be contacted in regards to this matter about
moving some of their meters.
C TY C. RTE
Mr. Blalock, representative of Tyne, Blanchette & Smith
reported the drafting of the charter. It was decided to proceed as
planned.
ORDI NCE ON DUTIES OF TM CITY ATTORNEY
An ordinance was brought before the council in regards to the
attorney. This ordinance provides for qualification and duties of the
city attorney. A motion to accept the or dinance was made by Alderman
Reeder, seconded by Alderman Wilsey. All approved this motion.
CIEA- UP ORDIIJNCE
The attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance called
by name. "Clean Up Ordinance".
ASSIGNW14TS
Alderman Wilsey was appointed as reporter for all news releases.
Alderman Reeder was appeftted to report on all new water
connections and building permits.
VENDORS FEE
Mr. McDonald of the Jack and Jill Ice Cream Co. met with the
Council concerning the vendors fee in the City of Farmers Branch.
CURRENT BILW
A motion was made by Alderman Wilsey,seconded by Alderman Gibson
to pay all current bills. This motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
