1956-07-16 CC Minutes1 i MINUTE6 OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS July 16, 1956 The City Council met in a regular meeting at 7:30 P. M. at the City Hall with the following present: Mayor Aldermen Attorney Secretary Administrator Lawson Lewis Thomas Reeder H. N. Fallon Janes Brodhead Bill Blalock Naomi Goodnight Jack Gray The minutes were read by Naomi Goodnight and approved as read. I~ ~I u DOG QUARANTINE On a motion by Alderman Brodhead, seconded by Alderman Reeder, the City passed an ordinance placing all dogs under a quarantine for 100 days. WIIMINGTON PETITIONERS A letter was written to each property owner on Wilmington Street by Mr. Gray answering their petition. USED CAR LOT ON HARRY HINES Mr. L. L. Sutton presented a plan to the Zoning Commission to have a used car lot on the B. A. Marcom property on Harry Hines with a small frame office. The Council discussed this matter and recommended that all buildings along Harry Hines be of masonary or brick. After much discussion the Council submitted this back to the Planning and Zoning Commission. POTTS GARAGE Mr. Gray reported to the Council that Potts Garage was violating two provisions of the zoning ordinance and was informed to correct them. CHARTER REPORT The Charter Committee has five sections of the Charter almost completed. JAYCEES REPRESENTATIVES Mr. J. C. Taylor and Bill Groce of the Junior Chamber of Commerce met with the Council to see if there would be room in the city park for a ball diamond for the Little League ball team. There will be further study on this matter. 1~ 9 VENDORS ORDINANCE REPEALED _ On a motion by Alderman seconded by Alderman Mallon the Vendors Ordinance was repealed and the City set up a license fee of $25.00 for vendors. AMENDMENT TO THE PAVING ORDINANCE On a motion by Alderman Brodhead, seconded by Alderman Mallon, the Council amended the paving ordinance, to require 6" thickness C 2500 lbs. -0-i-- CURRENT RILL On a. motion by Alderman Reeder, seconded by Alderman Mallon the current bills were approved for payment.
