MINUTES OF A MEETING OF
BOARD OF ALDERMEN
FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS
SEPTEMBER 109 1956
The City Council met in a special meeting at 7:30 P.M. at
the City Hall with the following present:
Mayor
Aldermen
City Adminis.
Lawson Lewis
Thomas Reeder
H. N. Mallon
Janes Brodhead
Bayne Gibson
John Wilsey.
Jack Gray
The meeting was opened by prayer led by Alderman Gibson.
The minutes were read and approved as read.
FIRE DEPARTMENT DISCUSSION
Mr. Addison Bradford met with the council and requested paid
firemen and better police service. The volunteer firemen were present
and Chief R. L. Yager outlined in a letter the things the Fire Department
needed.
WWM DDMSON PKWY,
Mrs. Wm. Dodson was contacted and was pleased to have the
parkway called Wm. Dodson Pkwy. The council agreed.
PAVING STREETS IN TO CITY PARK
A motion was made by Alderman Brodhead, seconded by Alderman

Gibson, for Uvalde Construction Co. to proceed as planned with the paving
and dirt work on W*. Dodson Parkway, Pepperwood and Rawhide Drive. All
approved.
BUS FRANC
Mr. Robert L. Thurmond talked with Mr. Gray about a school bus
service in Farmers Branch. Mr. Blanchette is to check about a franchise
for a bus service. Mr. Thurmond is to meet with the council at the next
meeting.

GA_ARBBAW TRUCK- ,
Mr. Gray was asked to see Mr. Moore about purchasing the gar-
bage truck that Mr. Moore now owns.
DAB RECIPROCAL SWITCHING ZONE
Mr. Gray is to find out what kind of letter is to be written
to M.K.T Railroad Co. to get Farmers Branch in the Dallas reciprocal
switching zone.
GREENVILLE AVE,. PATROL RADIO EQUIPMENT
Mr. Gray is to write a letter to Mr. Bridges of Greenville Ave.
patrol telling him what the City wants of him and his radio equipment.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
