MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING

AUGUS 27 1958
The City Council met in a, special meeting on August 27, 1958 at 7:30
P. M. at the Community Building with the following present:
Mayor
Mayor Pro Tem
Councilmen
City Manager
City Secretary
Lawson Lewis

H. N. Mallon

Don Knox
John Gray
Naomi Goodnight
Mayor Lewis reported that Commissioner Lynn Lawyther and Roy Rasberry
had met with City j "tanager Gray and him about the road to Wm. Cabell School.
Mr. Lawyther agreed that the county would build a temporary road if the City
of Farmers ranch requested it in a letter, but would not build for the Dallas
School District. The council instructed ' r. Gray to write the requested letter.
The council then instructed Mr. Gray to proceed with plans to put a foot bridge
.cross Farmers Branch Creek at the end of Lost valley Trail so the children
goring to Wm. Cabell School could stay off the main streets as much as possible.
Mr. Gray was asked by the council to place a city map on the bulletin
board in the council chambers in the new Community Building.
ANNEXATION ORDLIANCE # 154
On a motion by Councilman Mallon, duly seconded by Councilman Knox, the
following annexation ordinance # 151 was approved by the council and annexed
to the City of Farmers Branch,

BOUNDARIES FAf ,RS BRANCH AND DALLAS
The boundaries between Farmers Branch and Dallas were discussed by the
council. The council agreed that Mayor Lewis write an official letter to
Dallas Mayor and City Council stating the City of Farmers Branch feels now
is the time for approval of the boundaries and right -of -way between the cities
before the new highway work begins.
1958 -59 BUDGET
.� — try Manager Gray explained the 1958 -59 budget to the council. There
were some revisions to be made so the budget was tabled until next meeting.
RA4b' -IDN, CREEK PROPERTY
Mr. Gray was asked by the council to find out exactly what obligation
the City has with Louis Hexter concerning the purchase of property along Raw-
hide Creek and report back to the council.
4ATER CONNECTION CIARGrS
A discussion was held on the water connection charges. The charge per
house now is X50.00. This discussion was tabled until next regular meeting.
DENNIS ROAD WIDENIIG
Counci' man Mallon asked Mr. Gray how the Dennis Road project was shaping
up. The council was informed by Mr. Gray that Mr. Hol.lin had the plans almost
complete.
ALTERNATE BUSINESS ROUE
The council abk6d that Engineer Bob King be at the next regular meeting
to report on the alternate business route.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
