Louis Nichols Ruth Ann Parish Mayor Grimmer called the City Council meeting of January 4, 1971 to order at 7:30 P. M.. J. W. Wade gave the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Upon a motion by Councilman Korioth, a second by Councilman Linn, all voting "aye", approved the minutes of the City Council meeting of December 21, 1970 as written with an addition to the topic of Spring Valley Road Construction Discussed,,. -Vxrhich will be the third paragraph on page 195 under this topic. The addition being: "As suggested by Mr. Exall, the Council expressed a desire for a list of the names of land and cash donors, which shows the land quantities and cash amounts of each donor. " ORDINANCE NO. 869 - SET BACKLINE ON DALLAS PARKWAY After some discussion, a motion by Councilman Korioth, a second by Councilman McClung, all voting "aye", adopted the following captioned ordinance: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 851, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR A BUILDING SETBACK LINE ALONG BOTH SIDES OF DALLAS PARKWAY AT A. 100 FEET FROM THE CENTER LINE OF THE SAID DALLAS PARKWAY AND AT ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL DISTANCE AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. (This was also discussed at the December 21, 1970 City Council meeting.) Page 203. BID AWARDED FOR 8 SEDANS FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT After reviewing all bids, a motion by Councilman McClung, a second by Councilman Korioth, all voting "aye", awarded the bid for 8 sedans to Lee Jarmon Ford Company in the amount of $28, 530. 00, as recommended by the City Manager. BID AWARDED FOR 3 PICK-UPS AND 1 VAN Upon reviewing all bids for 3 -1/2 ton pickups and 1 -1/2 ton van , City Manager Paul West explained that the bid from Kammerer G. M. C. was received after the published bid opening time. The published date and time was 10:00 A. M. , December 30, 1970, however, the bid forms have 2:00 P. M. preprinted on them. This 2:00 P. M. time was not changed on the Kammerer G. M. C. bid form. Mr. West, also, reported that Mr. Kammerer originally bid on 4 ply tires but an increase for 6 ply tires as specified was included in the bid tabulation. The City Manager recommended the bid of Kammerer G. M. C., waiving all irregularities mentioned be accepted. After some discussion, a motion by Councilman Korioth, a second by Councilman McClung, all voting "aye", awarded the bid for 3 -1/2 ton pickups and 1 -1/2ton van to Kammerer G. M. C. in the amount of $10, 289. 44, waiving irregularities, as recommended by the City Manager. ADJOURNMENT Upon a motion by Councilman Korioth, a second by Councilman McClung, all voting "aye", adjourned the City Council meeting of January 4, 1971 at 7:3 9 P. M..
