West Recording Secretary Ruth Ann Parish Mayor Pro Tem Weidinger called the Special Meeting of June 1, 1981 to order at 2:08 P.M.. AGENDA ITEM DELETION: A motion by Councilman Johnson, a second by Councilman Weidinger, all voting "aye", deleted Executive Session Agenda Item No. 3 and Agenda Item No. 4 relating to the consideration of an appointment to the "Old Farmers Branch Study Committee" in order to give all members of the City Council an opportunity in making the selection. AGENDA ITEM NO. 1-CONSIDER ACTION ON FIRST READING OF ANNEXATION ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PORTION OF FYKE ROAD. Mayor Pro Tem Wei inger gave the o lowing information from an administrative memo. The City Council held a Public Hearing on May 18, 1981 for the annexation of the south half of Fyke Road between Josey Lane and Webb Chapel. Article 970A of the Munici- pal Annexation Act, requires that the first reading of the annexa- tion ordinance be considered not less than ten (10) days nor more than twenty (20) days after the Public Hearing, in this case not before May 28, 1981 nor later than June 7, 1981. Mayor Pro Tem Weidinger read the caption of Ordinance No. 1347. Councilman Haggerty made a motion to approve Ordinance No. 1347, First Reading of annexing a portion of Fyke Road. Councilwoman Dingman seconded the motion. The motion carried 3 to 1, with Council Members Haggerty, Dingman and Weidinger voting "aye", and Councilman Johnson voting "nay". Vol. 35, Page 33. AGENDA ITEM NO. 2. -CONSIDER AUTHORIZING SENDING A FARMERS BRANCH FLAG TO BASSETLAW. A ter some consideration, a motion by Councilman Haggerty, a second by Councilman Johnson, all voting "aye", authorized the expenditure inthe amount of $50.00 to purchase a Farmers Branch flag to send to sister city, Bassetlaw District, England. The Council agreed to hold a study session on July 22, 1981 at 4:00 P.M.. AGENDA ITEM NO. 3. -ADJOURNMENT.
