1983-05-02 CC MinutesCITY OF FARMERS BRANCH 1 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING MAY 2, 1983 6:00 P.M. COUNCIL CHAMBER POLICE BUILDING The following members of the City Council were present: Mayor Council Members John Dodd David Blair Carol Dingman Bill Glancy Herb Weidinger The following member of the City Council was absent: Mayor Pro Tem Fred Johnson The following members of the City Administration were present: City Manager Paul M. West Assistant City Manager Roy Patton Legal Counsel: John Boyle Skip Newsom City Secretary J. W. Wade Recording Secretary Ruth Ann Parish Mayor Dodd called the emergency meeting of May 2, 1983 to order and announced that an Executive Session would be held. The meeting will reconvene into General Session after the item has been discussed in the Executive Session. Article 6252-17, Section 2 of the Open meeting law provides that such item as contemplated litigation may be discussed in closed session. EXECUTIVE SESSION. Discuss Pending and Contemplated Litigation Legal Counsel Skip Newsom gave an up-to-date status report on the Water Rate Case. THE COUNCIL RECONVENED INTO GENERAL SESSION. NECESSARY ACTION ON PENDING AND CONTEMPLATED LITIGATION DISCUSSED IN THE EXECUTIVE SESSION. A motion by Councilman Weidinger, a second by Councilman Glancy, all voting "aye", authorized the Special Water Counsel, the law firm of Booth, Lloyd and Simmons, P.C., of Austin, Texas, to file on behalf of the City of Farmers Branch a Limited Purpose Inter- vention in the pending application before the Texas Water Commission for the Lake Fork Reservoir.
