A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FARMERS FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
BRANCH OF SIX PATROL VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FROM RELIABLE CHEVROLET THROUGH THE SHERIFFS'
ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS PURCHASING COOPERATIVE; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the FY 2019-120 Fixed Asset budget for vehicles and equipment includes
$220,000 for the purchase of four (4) replacement patrol vehicles and $129,000 for the purchase
of two (2) new additional patrol vehicles for the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, City staff prepared specifications and requested a quotation from the cooperative
purchasing program of Sheriffs' Association of Texas Purchasing Cooperative; and
WHEREAS, having evaluated the quotation received and determining patrol vehicles meeting
specifications can be purchased from Reliable Chevrolet through the City's cooperative
purchasing program with Sheriffs' Association of Texas Purchasing Cooperative for the amount
of$196,094.00, City administration recommends such purchase; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Farmers Branch, finds it to be in the public interest
to purchase the replacement patrol vehicles from Reliable Chevrolet through the Sheriffs'
Association of Texas purchasing program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase, on behalf of the City, six (6)
patrol vehicles from Reliable Chevrolet through the City's cooperative purchasing agreement
with Sheriffs' Association of Texas Purchasing Cooperative in an amount not to exceed
$196,094.00.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
