Airoldi City Manager Administrative Assistant Mayor Pro-Tem Bradford was George Grimmer Glen Doty Alma Broadhurst Bill Roberts, Jr. J. M. Orman Philip Jackson absent. CITY PARTICIPATION IN PAVING SPRING VALLEY ROAD Mr. Olin Humphries of the Cotton Belt Railroad presented a request for the City to participate in the paving of the south half of the divided roadway of Spring Valley Road from a point approximately 600 feet west of Inwood Road westwardly to Welch Road. The City's cost, according to existing policies, would be for 10.5 feet of the 31-foot pavement at 8 inches thick and for the equivalent cost of 20.5 feet wide of 2-inch pavement (being the difference in cost of an 8-inch over a 6-inch pave- ment). The estimated cost to the City is $9,412.00. City Manager Orman stated that funds were available for the City's participation. Councilman Grimmer made the motion for the City to participate, seconded by Councilman Doty, and all present voting "aye". CITY PARTICIPATION IN PAVING EASEMENT NORTH OF HOLLANDALE BETWEEN HAGUE AND ABLON A petition was presented by adjacent property owners requesting City participation in paving this easement. Estimated cost of the entire project is $5,825.00 and the property owners paying two-thirds of the cost and the City paying one-third of the cost. City Manager Orman stated that funds were available for the City's participation. Councilman Grimmer made the motion for the City to participate, seconded by Councilman Doty, and all present voting "aye". Page 52 STREET PROJECT NO. 62 - VALLEY VIEW LANE Revised alignment plans for Valley View Lane between Goodland and I.H. 35-E were approved. Mr. A. R. Hopper, Jr. presented his appraisals on twelve tracts of land. After discussing these figures in a closed meeting, the following resolution was adopted upon a motion by Council- woman Broadhurst, a second by Councilman Roberts, and all voting "aye", whereas, in order to provide the necessary right-of-way for widening and paving Valley View Lane between Tom Field Road and the Frisco Railroad, certain tracts of land must be obtained; appraisals have been made of the various tracts by A. R. Hopper, Jr.; these appraisals have been reviewed and approved by the City Council; that negotiations for the purchase of these various tracts is hereby authorized based on the appraisals prepared by Mr. Hopper; and, that the cost of purchasing these tracts and expenses incidental thereto be charged to Street Project No. 62. The Council requested Derrell Johnson to submit a flat rate for acquiring each tract of land, provided he was interested in this kind of a proposition.
