June 21, 1965
All members of the City Council were present:

Mayor Airoldi called the meeting to order. Mr. J. W. Wade gave
the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of regular meetings, May 17 and June 7 - 9, were
considered and approved.
SITE PLAN APPROVED - FARMERS BRANCH SHOPPING CENTER - GOODYEAR
Mr. Ray Holman, Sabre Realty, Inc., presented the site plan of
a Goodyear Service Center for Council approval. This building
to be located on Josey Lane south of Central Bank had been
approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
After a minor change on parking areas Councilman Upfield moved
approval of the site plan, seconded by Councilman Myers, all
voting "ayes".
REQUEST EXTENSION OF SPECIAL PERMIT ORDINANCE - GRADY CATES
Mr. Grady Cates requested (by letter) an extension of one year
on special permit, Ordinance No. 344. This ordinance concerns
a small triangular shaped tract at Josey Lane and Spring Valley
Road. After discussion Councilman Upfield moved a 30-day exten-
sion be allowed (will expire August 2, 1965), seconded by Coun-
cilman Tippitt, all voting "ayes".
POINTER REQUEST TO ACCEPT PORTION OF HERITAGE CIRCLE
Upon a motion by Councilman Upfield, a second by Councilman Tippitt,
all voting "ayes", the Council approved accepting the street dedica-
tion providing Mr. Pointer complies with Mr. Napier's recommenda-
tions as follows:

1. Remove the construction building and building material from
the street.
2. Thoroughly clean the pavement for inspection purposes of the
pavement surface and the grade line of the gutter.
3. Make necessary repairs to the pavement and curb and gutter
including, without question, the complete reconstruction of
flexible base and asphalt surface of the east 75 feet.
4. Provide positive drainage at the east end of the pavement
and properly grade the parkways.
5. Upon completion of the work, furnish the City with the usual
one year maintenance bond.
CONSIDER REQUEST OF COTTON BELT FOR WATER AND SEWER EXTENSIONS
A letter from Mr. R. D. Klein, Manager of Industrial Development
for Cotton Belt Railroad, requesting extension of water and sewer
lines on a pro rata basis in the Metropolitan Industrial Park on
Inwood Road was presented to the Council. After discussion, Coun-
cilman Tippitt moved to deny the request, seconded by Councilman
Myers, all voting "ayes".
ORDINANCE NO. 558 - STREET PROJECT NO. 48 - TRAFFIC SIGNALS
Upon a motion by Councilman Tippitt, a second by Councilman Upfield,
all voting "ayes", the following captioned ordinance was passed:
AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH THE COST OF INSTALLING TRAFFIC SIGNALS
AT VALWOOD PARKWAY AND JOSEY LANE AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THERE-
FOR OUT OF THE STREET IMPROVEMENT BOND FUND UNAPPROPRIATED RESERVE.
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - STREET PROJECT NO. 49 - STORM DRAIN
Upon.a motion by Councilman Tippitt, a second by Councilman Rhodes,
all voting "ayes", advertisement for bids for a storm sewer installa-
tion on Josey Lane and Millwood Drive was authorized.
APPOINTMENT TO PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
Upon a motion by Councilman Myers, a second by Councilman Upfield,
all voting "ayes", Mr. Victor Lyon, 3431 Golfing Green Drive, was
appointed to fill a vacancy created by Mr. Dargin's moving out of
the city. Mr. Lyon's appointment to expire May, 1966.
APPOINTMENT TO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
Upon a motion by Councilman Tippitt, a second by Councilman Hamilton,
all voting "ayes", Mr. William Jaremco was removed from the Planning
and Zoning Commission and appointed as an alternate on the Board of
Adjustment.
APPROVE TEMPORARY WALLS FOR EL CHICO BUILDING
Upon a motion by Councilman Myers, a second by Councilman Rhodes,

all voting "ayes", the Council approved a request by E1 Chico for
an additional building (north and west of the existing building)
on Valley View Lane with two temporary walls. The temporary walls
to be on the north and south sides of the building.
STORM DRAINAGE - CABELL SCHOOL
Councilman Hamilton asked for a study on improving the storm
drainage problems at Cabell School.
STREET IMPROVEMENT STUDY
Councilman Tippitt requested studies be made on improving inter-
sections at permanent grade.
Mayor Airoldi said they will have a special meeting with Director
of Public Works Napier to discuss street problems and improvements
all over the city.
