1963-01-11 CC MinutesMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS January 11, 1963 7:30 p.m. Present: Mayor A. J. Airoldi Councilmen Frank Tippitt Ed Rhodes E. P. Hamilton W. D. Oradat Councilman Regan was absent. City Manager J. M. Orman MORTON FOOD PLANT The meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the Morton Food Plant being located on Valley View Lane west of the Frisco Railroad and for the purpose of issuing a letter guaranteeing the issuance of a building permit. Upon a motion by Councilman Tippitt, seconded by Councilman Hamilton and the motion carrying, the following letter was sent to Mr. G. D., Morton: The City Council of Farmers Branch has begun the necessary procedures for rezoning the area west of the Rock Island Railroad that is presently zoned Temporary Residential (Future Light and Heavy Industrial). The recommendations set forth in the Marvin Springer report dated August 13, 1962 will be given careful consideration in that he has recommended that the entire area be rezoned "Light Manufacturing". The final official action on this rezoning is scheduled for City Council approval on January 30, 1963. The City Council has met in a special session this date and has unanimously agreed on the issuance of a building permit any time on or after January 31 for your food processing operations.
